  • Abstract
    Deregulation of the power industry introduces a new era in strategy and tactics with respect to reliability. The shift in responsibility for adequacy of supply from the generator itself to the regional power pool effectively shifts reliability issues from one of an obligation to one of economics. Ramifications are clear - the compatibility and timeliness of economic signals will potentially have a material impact on how well generators and the transmission entities are aligned. This panel discussion takes a closer look at the perspective of the generator within a competitive market and how such perspectives align with regional transmission reliability issues
