Abstract
This paper explores artificial immune system in feature extraction mechanism. Certain important features like robustness, dynamic, adaptive, error tolerant, distributive are key features of natural immune system. These features have a detailed description. We have used adaptive immune system to develop this extraction method successfully. The terrain has several facets such as water, vegetation, urban, denseurban, barren and many more. This paper attempted to identify all these features inSaharnpur area of Uttar Pradesh region of India. Among all the natural immune system, clonal selection theory mostly correlates with feature extraction. Even we have defined certain parameters of artificial immune system in terms of feature extraction. In addition to parameter´s definition, an algorithm has been proposed. The algorithm is applied to Saharanpur region of 916×569 dimension. The KHAT statistics shows that the proposed algorithm has an efficiency of 0.7649.
