Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. A steady-state algorithm is presented which makes it possible to calculate numerically the influence of the space charge of an arbitrary number of charge carriers in a current sheath. Some one-dimensional examples are presented: mono-bipolar current-limited Child-Langmuir flow in combination with arbitrary localized ionization processes. It turns out that ionization processes amplify the extracted currents significantly. The influence of an initial velocity of the charge carriers and the role of the negative field at the entrance electrode are discussed. An extension of this method to two- or three-dimensional gap-field calculations seems to be possible
