  • Abstract
In East-Tibet, the service life of small hydropower stations is shorter than average level, power supply project cannot meet planned targets, power station construction has negative impact on the fragile ecological environment, and the PICO and solar power are not fully developed. These phenomenons lead to low electrified rate and slow improvement of electrified rate in East-Tibet. The root causes for these phenomenons including poor geological conditions, improper construction plan, and incomplete policy guidance. In order to satisfy people´s urgent need of electricity in agricultural and pastoral areas, we should not solely increase the number and capacity of generators in small hydropower station or widen rural power network, but give priority to the development of PICO and increase both investments in power construction and population concentration degree as well.
