Abstract
The concept of applying Fortescue\´s transformation to describe power states in multi-phase circuits with non- sinusoidal voltages and currents has been presented in this paper. The main argument to present this concept was prof. Leszek S. Czarnecki\´s view that "the instantaneous reactive power p-q theory" does not identify power properties in some electrical circuits, is not fully shared by the author. It has been reminded in this paper that Clarke transformation can be used in the analyses of three-phase symmetrical circuits only. To prove the author\´s concept, several n-phase power converter circuits with non-sinusoidal voltages and currents have been analyzed with the help of Fortescue\´s transformation..
