  • Abstract
    A stochastic multivariable closed-loop control model is presented to account for trends in the response trajectories of human target-directed movements. The stochastic model described is based on the optimal control model, which has been used successfully in modeling human tracking performance. Trends in the response trajectories of human movements are determined by a model representing the human´s internal estimate of the target location. This representation is modeled as a Kalman estimator in which the target width and target distance determine the variances of the state and observation noise terms. Through model-matching exercises, agreement was found between the trends exhibited by subjects in mouse-positioning experiments and those produced by the model
