Abstract
The scope of this paper is to present an innovative multilayered absorbing panel for EM fields at radio frequency, which is characterized by high transparency in the visible range. The new transparent absorbing screen (TAS) is broadband, even if it has the simple structure of a dielectric Salisbury screen, due to the use of a properly designed carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composite as lossy sheet. In the following, the structure of the new TAS is described and the characteristics of the composing layers are presented. The EM performances of the screen are predicted by numerical simulations, whereas the optical properties are characterized experimentally
