Abstract
The exponential resistance-temperature characteristic of a thermistor necessitates the use of a linearising circuit to ensure proper measurements whenever a thermistor is employed as a sensor for measuring temperature. A dual slope type resistance to digital converter that accepts a thermistor as input and provides a digital output linear to the temperature being sensed by the thermistor, is presented in this paper. The practicality of the proposed linearising dual slope digital converter is established through simulation studies.
