Abstract
Traditional water pollution detective methods are time-consuming and complex. Therefore a new detecting method using the wireless sensor networks for detecting water pollution is proposed. In this system a kind of double cluster-head topology control algorithm of wireless sensor networks is proposed. This algorithm selects main cluster-head (MCH) by calculating weighting-value and collects data by main cluster-head, but transfers data by assistant cluster-head (ACH). The simulated experiment results show this algorithm can reduce cluster-head´s energy consumption, balance the network load, and prolong the network´s lifetime.
