Abstract
This paper addresses the integrated simulation of an inverter fed induction machine using a time step finite-element program. Three contributions are intended: first, the induction motor is partitioned into a fixed-reluctivity sub-model and a reluctivity update process to improve the simulation time without loss of accuracy; second, the inverter operation is embedded into the motor equations; and finally, the proposed scheme is applied to calculate in detail the power losses of the whole system
