  • Abstract
    In this paper, a new design about planar CPW-fed monopole antenna utilizing a step-slope ground plane for bandwidth enhancement is proposed and investigated. By selecting a ground plane with a proper slope angle of the symmetrically step-slope ground plane on each side of a planar monopole and a step-typed monopole driven patch, it can be founded that the wideband operation can be obtained. Since the conventional monopole structure is still used for this design, the characteristics of monopole-like radiation patterns can be kept. Details of the antenna design and experimental results are presented and discussed
