  • Abstract
    Describes a modification of the Signal Dependent Time-Frequency Representation (SDTFR) developed by Baraniuk and Jones (1993) in order to applying it to a simulated first heart sound signal composed of a rising chirp and two damped sinusoid components. This modification is performed by introducing an additional constraint on the design of the kernel to emphasize a specific section of the ambiguity plane. The result of this improved method is compared to those obtained by the SDTFR and the Wigner-Ville distribution of the simulated S1
