Abstract
A new approach toward reconstruction of analog signals from their sampled versions is presented using modern sampled-data control theory. The focus is upon the design of an H∞ optimal digital filter which reconstructs a delayed version of the original analog signal. It is shown that the problem is reducible, in spite of the delay element, to a finite-dimensional problem under some mild conditions. An example is given to illustrate the merits of this approach
