Abstract
Vehicle radio receiving mast antennas usually involve a helical element operating in the normal mode. In this paper a brief comment on the main characteristics of the helical antenna in this mode was made, and some new design data and a specific case involving antenna construction, simulation and measurements were presented. This can be applied to FM reception. Simulated and measured results allow to conclude that the data and methods here presented can effectively be used to design a helical receiving mast antenna in the FM band
