Abstract
This paper proposes an improved line-fed electromagnetically coupled microstrip patch antenna with the EBG lattice derivated from the ground. The microstrip patch antenna with the PBG structure which drills circular slots on the lower substrate is discussed and its simulation is made with CST Microwave Studio. Simulation result shows that the PBG structure microstrip patch antenna compared to the conventional structure antenna is capable of suppressing the higher harmonics effectively and improving the performance of the antenna
