Abstract
This paper presents the estimation of the near field of an aperture antenna having a triangular type tapered aperture illumination for EMI estimation. To estimate the near field of the antenna at different distances away from its aperture, use has been made of the FFT technique to find the spatial field from the spectral distributions. The field at the aperture is reconstructed to provide the validity of the computation algorithm. The near field data given are useful for EMI estimation of an aperture antenna with triangular type tapered aperture illumination. The computation technique can be utilised to find the field distribution at any distance away from the antenna aperture over any planar or spherical surface for EMI hazards
