  • Abstract
    This paper demonstrates two different network-based control approaches which can serve industrial processes as possible alternatives for conventional methods using Foundation Fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet. These methods include function block and remote network-based control implementations. This experiment is based on a recent experience achieved from a field trial carried out in Tehran Petroleum University of Technology Fieldbus lab. The obtained observations illustrate reasonable capabilities of the proposed control approaches.
