  • Abstract
    This paper, taking the GDP per capita as the index of measure, studies the spatial autocorrelation of the economy of Wanjiang Urban Belt at county level from 2001 to 2009 through the related analysis of ESDA. Some conclusions are drawn as follows: Considering the overall spatial economic framework, the county economic of Wanjiang Urban Belt shows a strong trend of spatial natural correlation, the similar areas cluster in space, and this trend is increasing. The degree of the global spatial autocorrelation is closely related to the defined spatial extent of the urban belt. In the period of economic low-level equilibrium development, the index increases as the defined extent widens, while in the period of economic polarization, the correspondence is opposite. During the study period, the spatial pattern of the county economy changed greatly, for example, underdeveloped county gradually shifted from the Dabie Mountains to the Southwest of Anhui.
