Abstract
The concept of the Double Domain Simulation method was introduced on the 12th ICHQP in 2006 in Cascais, Portugal. This novel method was introduced to improve the accuracy of the frequency domain simulation. To calculate the sophisticated model of a nonlinear load a time dependent model must be used. The supply network together with the high voltage upstream network could be calculated in frequency domain. An iteration algorithm was developed converting the variables in every iteration step between the time and frequency domain. This is the so called Double Domain Simulation. Between 2006 and 2014 the practical application of this novel method was introduced through several research tasks. This paper would like to give an overview about these projects, and besides this it would like to demonstrate the various application possibilities of the Double Domain Simulation method.
