Abstract
Optical phase conjugators (OPCs) constructed by dispersion-shifted fiber (DSF), highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF), and new coming bismuth oxide-based nonlinear fiber (Bi-NLF) are evaluated and compared by computer simulation. Under the limitation of commercially available pump power, we show that HNLF-based OPC is preferable for employing in the transmission system owing to its sufficiently high signal quality.
