Abstract
A novel three-dimensional LC-based metamaterial topology is presented. Using a balanced unit cell an omnidirectional left-handed frequency band is shown to exist by algebraic calculation. Two interleaved unit cells, each rotated by 90deg, support polarization-independent omnidirectional left-handed wave propagation
