Abstract
The rising demand for low-cost radiofrequency integrated circuits (RFICs) has generated remarkable interest in on-chip passive components. The work presents a new approach for the design of lumped component filters on high resistivity silicon substrate. The method is based on intensive electromagnetic simulations and automatic optimization of the filter layout. Two designed filters are presented. The first filter is a low-pass filter with the greatest transmission coefficient at 2.4 GHz and the second one is a high-pass filter with minimum insertion loss at 5 GHz are presented.
