  • Abstract
This paper presents the design of an adjustable speed induction motor drive destined for electric vehicles. Computer aided design was used and a PSpice model for the induction motor was created for simulation purposes. The major contribution of this work is the hysteresis current control scheme proposed, based on a linear model of the rotor current in function of the slip. Analog circuits carried out the control algorithm and a microcontroller was used for current references generation resulting in a low-cost hybrid-signal controller. This control technique has given excellent experimental results confirming simulation previsions established beforehand
