Abstract
In this paper a double loop control technique aimed at improving the maximum power point tracking performances in photovoltaic applications is proposed. The main novelty is in the application of the peak current control to the current flowing in the small capacitance usually put in parallel with the photovoltaic source: this results into a fast dynamic response and a high noise rejection. The proposed approach also simplifies the control design and improves the system robustness. The dynamical analysis and the simulations proposed in this paper demonstrate the advantages of the proposed technique.
