  • Abstract
    The unprecedented explosion of mobile Internet users has shifted the computing paradigm to a new era, an ubiquitous one. This unparalleled growth against the underlying IP protocol has called for the design of the next generation Internet protocol, IPv6. Among the well-thought-over features of the protocol stands Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) that turns the mobility functionality on. In this paper, we put forward various attack strategies envisioned to mount one of the most serious security attacks, the Denial of Service (DoS), against MIPv6. We then discuss the proposed mitigation strategies and their effectiveness in view of the threat at hand.
