Abstract
This paper proposes a simple and efficient computation-aware mechanism named stopping-threshold adaptation for the predictive block motion estimation to distribute the available computing power of a codec to achieve higher output quality. Its performance proves to be satisfactory for all sequences tested on heterogeneous codecs with distinct computational power.
