Abstract
This paper is focused on finding an optimal power allocation strategy for the reverse link of a multimedia DS-CDMA system. A new model is developed to incorporate different performance requirements of different multimedia services. The effect of power allocation on the capacity of the system is investigated. The results presented are readily applicable to packet-switched CDMA systems
