Abstract
Next Generation Networks (NGN), like Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and Long Term Evolution (LTE) are expected to become the “anywhere and anytime” access networks to high speed wireless communications. This paper proposes a method of mapping the LTE QoS parameters in order to improve the quality of experience of the end-user when an e-learning application that uses Dynamic Quality Oriented Adaptive Scheme (DQOAS) and generates a traffic mix, is deployed over a Long Term Evolution network. Simulation results show that the proposed mapping method offers improved results compared to the normal mapping scheme used in LTE. The best results are obtained in combination with the proportional fair scheduling algorithm, while round robin and maximum throughput schedulers´ satisfaction rate does not go over 50% in our simulation setup.
