  • Abstract
At present, electric machines with permanent magnets find more and more application in various areas in engineering. First of all, it is connected with the appearance of new materials of permanent magnets (for example Nd-Fe-B, different anisotropic alloys) with high magnetic performances and their rather low cost. This paper considers modern permanent magnets. Also, this paper analyses the magnetic, thermal and mechanical characteristics of permanent magnets and shows price guidepost of such magnets. Moreover, in this paper, the application of permanent magnets are considered in the different areas of engineering.
