  • Abstract
    The function of the nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks which are connected via wireless links are sensing the events when placed in the environment and sending those sensed data to the base station. Routing, power management, and data dissemination protocols have been employed for WSN. In WSN where nodes are mobile and communicate directly to base station like MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network), the Proactive protocols like DSDV (Destination Sequenced Distance Vector) and Reactive Protocols like AODV (Ad-hoc On Demand) and DSR (Dynamic Source routing) are used during packet transmission and data forwarding. In this paper AODV protocol performance is evaluated in different terrain areas by considering performance metrics like Packet Delivery Ratio, Delay, Routing Overhead by using NS2 simulator tools. Selection is performed by considering arbitrary positions of nodes with no fixed topology. In the analysis part nodes are fixed with 100 with a variation in speeds from 10m/s to 60m/s and terrain regions are taken 1000*1000 and 1000*2000.
