Abstract
Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is the core control module of photovoltaic power generation system. In order to maximize the use of solar energy, maximum power tracking is a necessary. Based on mathematical engineering models of photovoltaic cells, the output characteristics of photovoltaic cells were studied in the case of the changing external environment. According to the output characteristics, based on the traditional incremental conductance method, we proposed an improved variable step of the duty cycle tracking technology through power detection. The traditional algorithm and improved algorithm were comparatively simulated using MATLAB / Simulink and simulation results show that the improved algorithm can achieve better tracking performance in the case of the changing external environment.
