Abstract
One of the main limitations of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system is the large peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Among current PAPR reduction methods, Adaptive partial transmit sequence (APTS) (Jayalath and Tellambura, 2000) is an efficient and distortionless scheme for PAPR reduction with less complexity than conventional PTS (Muller and Huber, 1997). In this paper, a novel low complexity APTS (LC-APTS) method is proposed to further reduce the complexity of APTS. The basic idea of the proposed method is to simplify the computation for individual candidate signal. Simulation results show that the new method can effectively reduce the complexity compared with APTS scheme without loss of PAPR reduction performance.
