Abstract
The features of self-focusing (self-defocusing) effect in two-level resonant media have been considered in conditions of strong interactions between the light beams. New modes of two-wave mixing characterized by the presence of the directed energy exchange between the light beams on diffraction from volume dynamic gratings have been found from numerical solution of the coupled-mode equations
