From transmitter to receiver-the weakest link in the broadcast chain

The present reception standards of terrestrial broadcast services, theoretical and actual, are examined, and the statistics of coverage are discussed. Future broadcasting developments are summarised, and the existing terrestrial contribution is reviewed in the light of these proposals. The review is extended to consider what improvements are possible and what part these networks might play in meeting the public demands not only for broadcasting, but for other forms of personal communication
