Abstract
The South East Queensland Electricity Board (SEQEB) has been evaluating various approaches to reducing the cost of distributing electricity. The Micro Controller is a device designed to be installed on feeders and transformers at bulk and zone substations. It is a stand alone mini SCADA system which also carries out protection functions including: overcurrent, earthfault, sensitive earthfault, auto reclose, and circuit breaker fail protection. It also provides current and voltage indication, alarm annunciation and data logging.
