  • Abstract
This paper presents the results of a survey of entrepreneurial firms in the Zhongguancun early-stage incubator. Firms were asked about their knowledge on corporate ethics, self-description on ethical behavior. The results show that most of ZGC entrepreneurs regard corporate social responsibility as philanthropy donation and repaying to the society and motherland while making profit. Results also indicate that ZGC entrepreneurs are the group with high evaluation of themselves in ethics and believe that they needn´t give up their ethics to succeed in their ventures. On the basis of this, self-actualization need of Chinese ZGC entrepreneurs, innate features of intellectual entrepreneurs, social expectation to them and government role are identified as key reasons for their ethical status.
