Abstract
Phosphogypsum (phph) is a by-product in the manufacture of phosphoric acid for the artificial fertilizer industry, In the present work, qualitative and quantitative radioactive analysis are carried out for phph from the National Company of Abuzabal for chemical fertilizers. Gamma ray spectroscopy techniques are applied. The present study reveals that the radioactivity resulting from these wastes is above international standards, and it is strongly not recommended to be used as a construction material or for dwellings
