Abstract
The problem of image restoration from noisy measurements as encountered in nuclear medicine is considered. The measurements are represented by a spatial noncausal interaction model prior to maximum entropy restoration. A simultaneous autoregressive model is utilized to describe these correlations. Regarding the constraint equations, a model is introduced. This is based on the Poisson statistics of the emissions. Results for actual gamma camera data are presented which include pelvic imaging and heart cycle imaging from gated studies
