Abstract
The temperature setting system for the finishing stands of hot strip mill was analyzed for technical improvement. Based on production data, a method was proposed to correct the radiation factor of air cooling model and a new exponential model was substituted for original water cooling model. Then an enhanced short and long self-adaption temperature model of the finishing stands was put forward to match the requirement of hot strip production, with both simulation and experimental results confirming that the setup accuracy of finishing temperature is effectively improved and the error deviation was greatly decreased when steel grade and dimension were changed
