  • Abstract
The error problem of the finite element method (used in electromagnetic field analysis) is discussed and an optimal solution technique proposed which invokes a new finite element formulation using surface current sheets or charges at interelement interfaces. The method in combination with a standard problem-oriented adaptive process can considerably reduce the accuracy problem with a small computational effort
