Performance evaluation of a UMTS in a urban environment

By means of a simulation programme comparisons were made between different channel allocation schemes and handover criteria in case of uniformly and nonuniformly distributed traffic. These comparisons were, performed in a typical macrocellular environment. Output parameters included statistical C/I distribution, handover rates and carried traffic.
