Abstract

LonWorks, which puts computer, networks and control together, is the one of the excellent Fieldbus, and has been widely used in the fields such as building automation, instrument automation, industry automation, family automation and traffic automation, and so on. It provides with an open and flexible communication establishment. The research in the field of implementing the interconnection communication between LonWorks and Ethernet is popular now. It presents the design of one kind of gateway built on LonWorks and Ethernet, and also gives detailed steps in this paper. The gateway can convert two protocols between TCP/IP and LonTalk, and also can help to connect the devices of LonWorks to Ethernet and really realize communication between LonWorks and Ethernet
