Abstract
This paper presents the up-convert mixer design for multi-band/multi-mode wireless applications including GSM-1800, 3G mobile, and WLAN. The design chip utilizes the current folded configuration to reduce the supply voltage in the InGaP/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology. The inductive circuit for the IF input and the buffer stage for the RF output are adapted to meet the matching requirements. Measured data for 2.4-GHz and 5.9-GHz with IEEE 802.11 g signals are shown to verify the circuit applicability and performance.
