Abstract
Describes a physical facility used to validate a methodology concerned with generating transport control data from a simulation model. Three workcentres comprising manipulation, transportation and sensing elements, make up the facility. A desk-top microcomputer, running concurrent DOS, acts as an overall workcentre supervisor and hosts a `generic transport controller´ (GTC). The GTC controls material movement throughout the facility and is configured from a simulation model
