  • Abstract
Electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure synthesizer using genetic algorithm (GA) has been developed. In mixed-signal systems, in spite of the fact that band gap structures have become very important parts for noise suppression, there has been no synthesis method for band gap structure. Hence, designing EBG structures have been computationally expensive. For the first time, EBG synthesizer using GA has been presented. The synthesizer has been verified with simulations and measurements. To have the synthesizer fully automated, GA has been combined with the finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) method and dispersion diagram analysis method.
