Abstract
Rapid changes in the electric utility deregulation arena are occurring nationwide. Many in the pulp and paper industry are already feeling the impact. As utility restructuring occurs, knowledge is the key to survival for those industrials whose profit margins are measured in small fractions. Competition for customers by the utility companies should offer the pulp and paper industry more choices, lower prices and better reliability.
