Abstract
This paper presents a newly developed general traffic engineering (TE) evaluation platform, which facilitates the performance evaluation of various TE methodologies and techniques in QoS-aware DiffServ-MPLS networks and under different network topologies, traffic loads, characteristics and conditions. The modular, scaleable structures of the developed TE testbed will be described along with performance evaluation examples. The TE testbed is capable of accommodating different TE strategies and configurations, such as online/offline and distributed/centralized TE approaches. It can also be used to emulate a given QoS-aware DiffServ-MPLS network with a certain TE policy in order to support on-line testing and evaluation of Web service prototypes
