  • Abstract
We propose a new method of estimating desired-signal-power to undesired-signal-power ratio (DUR) for the downlink frame of a beyond-3G system; it is named dynamic parameter controlled orthogonal frequency and time division multiple access (DPC-OF/TDMA). We also propose a new subcarrier arrangement of the OFDM symbols used for DUR estimation (DURE). The proposed subcarrier arrangement enables no interference between the desired signal and the signals transmitted from adjacent cells by employing perfectly orthogonal sequence codes, and, thus, we can distinguish the desired signal from the undesired ones and estimate DUR accurately. We evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed method by computer simulation.
