Abstract
The authors propose to extend the concept of the dynamic resetting of low frequency relays to other means of control available for the control of power systems under emergency conditions. They also envisage the use of all locally available information for the implementation of the control strategy, which includes the detection of a disturbance, proximity evaluation, diagnosis and control action. The voting technique is used to evaluate the results of any operator intervention. The totality of all these is seen as the use of distributed intelligence in the control of power systems
