Abstract
The analysis and design of shielded equipment enclosures can be carried out using various numerical techniques. The author describes approximate analysis approaches which can be used to design the shielded enclosure. In addition, he describes the various leakage mechanisms in qualitative terms in order to supplement the mathematics and provide a non-numerical understanding. He also provides means by which initial `educated guesses´ can be arrived at as a starting point for the analysis or for the purpose of design scoping
